What is permanent makeupPermanent makeup, also known as Micropigmentation or semi permanent makeup is an advanced cosmetic technique introducing pigments into the dermis of the skin to create long lasting eyeliner, lipliner or eyebrow definition, to enhance your natural features to give definition and a natural make up look.
-
How long does semi permanent make up last?Semi permanent make up generally lasts from 1-3 years although depending on the individual it can last longer. From 12-18 months after your initial treatment you can visit the clinic for a colour boost, this is to keep the colour fresh and keeps your enhancement looking it’s best for the next year and so on.
-
Does it fade?Semi permanent makeup will gradually fade over time, results vary from person to person, eyebrow tattoo can last from 1-3 years. Lighter colours will fade faster than darker colours, the tones used for eyebrows are usually soft and natural, makeing them more susceptible to fading, this is when a 12-18 month colour boost comes in to freshen the look up again. Fading is caused by a few factors, UV exposure, pigment removal by the body’s immune system, cellular turnover, and some anti-aging face products ( Retinol, AHA) , using a good sunscreen is key to keeping your brows looking great!
-
Is permanent makeup safe?Semi permanent makeup is a safe tried and tested procedure carried out by a professional. Health and safety is always out top priority at Blush, The digital device used is expertly engineered, a sterile and a completely disposal system is used to prevent infection, and for your safety . All equipment and pigments used comply with the relevant European health, safety and environmental legislation, and only use specially formulated pigments of the very highest quality, which meet the conditions of the Resolution ResAP(2008)1 on requirements and criteria for the safety of tattoos and permanent makeup . Naturally we are fully insured , licences, trained and certified and have completed level 4 Micropigmentation ITEC and HABIA approved courses.
-
Would I need a patch test?Yes a patch test is performed to determine if you have a sensitivity to the pigment and anaesthetic. We place a tiny spot of pigment onto the skin for 24 hours , this area is to be monitored for any allergic reactions such as itching , redness or blistering. If a reaction occurs, which is highly unlikely , we would not proceed with the treatment .
-
How long does a treatment take, is it done in one visit?"The treatment will take between1-3 hours depending on the area thats being treated. Step 1: is your consultation and patch test, you will discuss your requirements and we will work out the best treatment for you . Step 2: is your treatment, shape , colour and positioning is decided together taking into account your skin tone, and symmetry. Your are made comfortable with topical numbing agents, then the implantation process of the pigment into the skin starts. Step 3: is your touch up procedure, normally 4-8 wks after your initial visit to perfect the make up and boost the colour.
-
Does it hurt?A topical anaesthetic is applied to the area to be treated in order to minimise any pain caused by the procedure. Most clients have said the discomfort feels like tickling scratches. We use a topical anaesthetic gel.
